That's right, Northside, it's time! God has impressed strongly on me and the entire leadership staff that it's time for us to completely REBOOT our church. In golf, it's called a mulligan. In amateur tennis, it's called a do-over. When you're playing a retro videogame like Pac-Man, there's a reset button if you don't like how things are going. (Does anyone else have that problem or is it just me?) When you're talking about your house, you might speak in terms of "renovating, redecorating or remodeling." If your computer is running slow, you'll usually reboot it so that it'll return to a state of usability and functionality. (I reccomend this approach over the sledge hammer technique.)
For over a year now in preparation for our upcoming Vision Sunday service (February 5), my prayer has been for God to do something new in and through us. I believe that Northside is a truly amazing church and that we have so much to be grateful for. God has used us in some indescribably miraculous ways.
But, we're also one of the best keep secrets in the city of Mobile. So, I believe that in 2017 we need to expand our vision and outreach. I believe it's time for us to start fresh and -- all in one accord -- to renew our hearts, our minds, and our passion for the Lord Jesus Christ who gave His all on the Cross of Calvary. I believe in 2017 we need to remember how awesome it is to be saved. We need to energize our lives through the fresh joy and daily mercy of the Holy Spirit. We need to reconnect with our Savior and do it with fresh zeal and fresh commitment.
Do you remember what it was like on the day of your salvation? Remember the excitement and the overwhelming emotions? Remember realizing for the first time that your sins were washed by the blood of Christ and that your future was secure in Heaven? Remember when you first learned that Jesus, the perfect, stainless Son of God, loved you with an everlasting, grace-abounding love?
It's time for a do-over, a total overhaul, and a remodeling of our church's passion! So, starting on Sunday, January 8, Northside will officially REBOOT -- every Sunday morning at 10:30AM and Sunday evenings at 5:30PM.
This is your chance, folks. This is your chance to experience God's wonderful, matchless grace new and fresh all over again. Please don't miss it!
